What do our customers say?
"Just thought I'd drop you a note to say that
I am very pleased with my baby sling. I thought the service I received
from you when ordering was 1st class (I was the one who wasn't sure
if it would fit) and I'm pleased to say that it does fit both myself
and my husband and is very comfortable. 11 month old Jemima loves it!
I will certainly recommend you if the opportunity arises."
"I just wanted to tell you that I absolutely
love the sling that I bought last August for my baby. He is now nearly
a year old and much to everyone's surprise I'm still able to carry
him in it even though I have a bad back. I just thought I would let
you know."
"I suffer from a spinal disability and have
a four month old baby who weighs 19lb 9oz. I have tried different types
of baby slings and found they were more trouble than help. The Better
Baby Sling makes it easier to carry my baby and Jed likes it as much
as I do. It is also comfortable sitting down and I would have no hesitation
in recommending it to anyone, able bodied or disabled. I have found
this baby sling to be a great help, I would be lost without it."
"I wanted to let you know I am delighted with
your sling. Jenny was born in January and I discovered I can wear the
sling under my coat, which keeps her (and me) very warm! (It makes
me look a bit of a funny shape, but causes much delight and surprise
when people notice her peeping out!" - Anita (Return

Sling Philosophy - the thinking behind the sling
Attachment Parenting
The American paediatrician Dr William Sears, author of several books on attachment
parenting, believes that babies are less likely to cry if they are carried,
because of 'better bonding' with the mother. He also believes that babies
that are held grow up to be more confident, have better hearing and develop
better spatial awareness because of the constant movement. (Dr Sears himself
developed a sling in the USA based on a similar design to The Better Baby
Sling.)
The Continuum Concept
This is the title of a book by Jean Liedloff. It tells of her experiences living
with The Yequana, a tribe of South American Indians, who continuously held,
cuddled and carried their infants until they were ready to be independent.
It was found that this constant contact, which included sleeping with the
child, produced an adult who was content, self-reliant, and responsible
for themselves and others. This is in sharp contrast to our culture which
often forces children into self-reliance before they are developmentally
prepared for it. (The Better Baby Sling is the type of sling recommended
by the author Jean Liedloff see Links section.)
Three in a Bed
This book is mainly about the advantages of sharing a bed with your infant,
however its author, Deborah Jackson also advocates carrying your baby in
a sling. She writes: "Humans are a 'carrying' species not a
'cache' species, like birds or reptiles, which put their babies in nests
and leave them there while they forage for food. Primitive humans, like
apes and certain other mammals, traditionally carried their young as they
worked. For at least three million years, women slept with, and carried,
their babies. With the aid of a sling, the modern mother can do the same." (Return
