Hip Carry
This position is particulary suitable for aged six
months up to toddler age, altough younger babies with good head control
may be carried this way.
Put sling on in normal position. Hold your baby high
up and put their legs through the sling as if you were sitting baby
on your hip. Straddle the baby's legs on your hip before pulling the
sling over the baby's back. Tighten the sling so that the lower padding
forms a secure seat under the baby's bottom. Smaller babies (and wrigglers)
may prefer to have their hands tucked inside the sling. although older
babies tend to keep their hands out.
